What a fun and interesting trip!
So, it mostly rained or drizzled most of Saturday. The temperature was kind of chilly too! So our day started off with a visit from Patty and Terry (they camped behind us). They visited and checked out the new rig. It felt like we were giving tours! haha! I didn't mind. I was proud of this beauty! Ok, let's put a pin on the ride until the end of this post.
Anywho, that morning I made sausage gravy and prepped it in the RV since we had visitors. I should also say that Friday morning we had blueberry pancakes with bacon, courtesy of Stacy! When all that was finished, our group got together and ate. John and I did shifts since we had to tie Buckley. He was not going to be happy on a leash all day. He made that known. After that, John and I took the boys for a walk.
As you can see, overcast with drizzle throughout the day. Typical May weather for Michigan. After that, we played a card game called Golf. This is when Buckley decided to dig to China. His snoot was all dirty. He did not like to be told no or stay still. Zeke layed under the table but he is 11 years old. He knows what to do while camping... be lazy!
When the card game was finished, us ladies, Eric and Brandon went out for ice cream. Yup, ice cream on a cold, drizzly day. It was good and Brandon treated us. We took a drive after everyone finished to Port Crescent. It looked nice and even had some cabins with sun rooms! WHAT?! There were a few sites for bigger rigs but I am not sure if we could do it. It seemed to be a bit crowded...and probably full of children.
Then we took a ride around and headed back to camp. On our way back, we saw a car parked on the side of the road. WHY? Well, Eric pointed out that they were watching this big bird in a tree. So we pulled over and Eric took his binoculars out to see what kind of bird. It was a bald eagle!
If you zoom in, you can see the white head. It was pretty cool to see just hanging out on the tree.
So we arrived back to camp and hung around the fire for a bit. Dinner was made, drinks were consumed and Buckley had a temper tantrum. I think he was overstimulated and overtired.
I used the shower that night to try it out. It's a shower. I was clean. All is good in my world.
Sunday (today), we had to clean up. I did find out that the central vac (yes, this rig has one!) can reach all the way up to the cockpit! WOOT! Also, I think I will be getting some kind of area rug for the living area. I really don't like to walk on bare floors.
Got our slides in, said our goodbyes to our neighbors and off we went. We got home about 2pm, unpacked, ate dinner and probably calling it an early night. It was a good trip even with the crappy weather. Lots of fun memories.
So the ride on this Tiffin. What a difference from the Pursuit! We had the radio on, confirming what route and could hear what Bill was saying from the walkie (CB has not been installed). It's not super quiet but it is so much a better ride experience! The seats are comfortable and you didn't feel every bump in the road. Well, obviously, our shitty roads you can feel but it just felt more comfortable. I love this RV. Our next trip is a longer one so we will see how that works out. The boys did ok. We don't have the jack knife bed but we do have a full couch. Zeke mainly layed on that and Buckley made his space under the dinette. I was thinking of putting the dinette bed down for our next trip but I am not sure. Just going with the flow. But I digress...
The park itself. This was a good park. They had garbage cans around so we never had to make a dog poopbag pile. They also had a nature trail that was about 2 miles. I could do without the street lights they had but there are always cons to the pros. But it was quiet, probably because of the weather but it was a lot of fun. Lots of walks, food, drinks and laughter!
Well, gotta get ready for Monday.
A presto!
