Last day of September

Today we got an early start and headed off to Jericho for the boys' jeep badges.  I think we got there about 11am.  This trail is pretty neat since the jeep folks take care of it and even have gates to keep the other orv off of it.  It is exclusively for 4X4.  Anywho, it was a challenge from the get go! Even though the beginning was an easy trail, it certainly was not.  We only had Buckley with us since Zeke does not do well with any of the bumps and falls of off roading.  I did get Buckley on top of a big boulder.  It was bigger than me!  So the guys had their fun bouncing around, using their deductive skills to get around trees and rocks without killing us.  The fun was over and we headed back to camp for a snack and then we picked up Zeke to go up to Mount Washington.

I used my Nikon DSLR for most of my pictures so I don't have to worry about my phone. It was interesting and not as high as Pike's Peak but the road up was crazy.  The elevation would spike up or the road would do hairpin turns and the road itself was sketchy.  We also only had 45 mins to check what we could but it was enough time.

After that, we went back to camp for dinner and the guys are watching Lions football.  We are leaving NH tomorrow to go to Maine!

The start of Road Trip 2024

 Let me catch you up...

We left on the 27th at noon from the storage lot.  We left a lot sooner so we beat a lot of traffic.  We ran through Ohio and then into Pennsylvania.  I called Jimmy and he came up to Presque Isle Passage RV park for the night.  The next morning, we said our goodbyes

and then we were off to NY to see Niagara Falls.
We weren't going to take the pups to tour the Falls area but we did. Zeke did real good with all the people and even did stairs.  Then we drove for a while in NY and waited a bit too long because night caught up to us real quick.  We found a  RV park and that was a big ol' clustermess.  The people told us they had pullthroughs and they did not or electricity.  We ended up staying for free and in the off season area.  So we pulled off to some random area.  Well, John wanted to turn the rig around but the cul-de-sac was just a bit tight so he unhooked. He left the door opened on the RV and Buckely took off, in the dark.  I screamed his name a few times and he came back.  Needless to say, I was really upset about the whole situation and needed to calm down.  So we all ate and went to bed.  The next morning, we left about 8am for White Birches.  We went through Mass, VT and then NH! WE got to WB about 3pm and got situated.
The night comes real quick here! It was dark at 7:30pm! Wow! We had steak fajitas for dinner and enjoyed the stars.  There were sooooo many!

So today, we are going to Jericho Park for the boys' Jeep badge and then to Mount Washington.  I am bringing my Nikon so I don't have to fiddle with my phone.  It is supposed to be cold up there!

Anywho, sunrise is an hour early than at home so I am going to wait up for it.  Today will be a busy one for sure and then tomorrow we are off to Maine!  Maybe dinner at  Bar Harbor!

Driving around

Yesterday we drive around town to see what's up.  He took me to see CMU campus and then we happen to find a park with a Vietnam memorial.  It was very neat! It had the name of the fallen of the town of Isabella.

The weather is very crisp this morning.  It's pushing day and our checkout is at 11. I like this KOA.  It wasn't too crazy big and it is very woodsy! Plus it was fun having Chris and Lisa.  Oh they did get their slide fixed too.  Well, I have to get dressed,  deal with the dogs and start cleaning up.

Bundy Hill

Yesterday we hiked the Bundy Hill nature preserve.  I think it was a 2.3 loop and Zeke made it! So proud of my old man.  Then, when we arrived back at camp,  Lisa and Chris were rolling up. We had a good time caching up.  I stayed up to 1! And now I'm up and it's 5:30.  Hoping we don't do much today.  I'm sitting on my couch with my little fireplace on.   I may take a nap here.   Last day here and then we leaving tomorrow morning.
