I know this is a few days late but, hey, I am here now. Let's do this!
The trip started off a little wet with a thunderstorm that rolled in as we were getting hooked up and ready for the drive to Indiana. The drive was long and we had a few pop up rain showers here and there. We did stop for fuel and lunch (we left the storage lot about 9am) and gave the dogs a potty break.
We had some detours while we were close to the campgrounds (parades and such). Once we arrived, it was such a relief! The drive seemed to be so long. The weather, overall, was mostly hot and humid. The others went kayaking a couple of times then we all went to the pool, offroad and checking out the towns nearby. We did hit a pizza place for Stacy's birthday. I enjoyed it.
Normally I would be a link to all the photos but I am being very lazy. They are on Google.
We had some great grub and fun hikes. We went for a hike at one of the trails and it felt like the rain forest. It was so hot and humid! Gross! The campground itself, was good. Weird thing was that they (the state park) lost their garbage bin contract and all the bins were taken from inside the park. There were some at the front but the convenience of bins close by was gone. That was weird considering there is a slab for each bin and no garbage cans in the bathrooms or picnic areas. C'mon Indiana...where are we supposed to put our litter? That was my only complaint...lack of garbage cans.
We are resting up for a few weeks then we are off to Ohio for Hocking Hills for John's birthday. This time I will have my walking brace with me. It is already packed!
A dopo!
