It has been so busy after Jericho/Mt Washington but here's the skinny...
We arrived in Maine and at our campsite, Timberland Acres RV Park. Nice place, full hookups and a good place to call home. After we setup, we went to Bar Harbor to check it out. It was crazy crowded and took up a while to find a parking spot. We finally found a spot, paid the meter and went to take a look around. Stacy and I got donuts from Graffiti Donuts. I had a Samoa and blueberry glazed. It took me a couple of days to finish too! After that, we went to Stewman's for dinner and my first lobster roll!
The guys had a whole lobster so they had to break shells and work at it. Stacy had the steak since she has allergies to shellfish. After dinner, we walked back to the car and went back to our site.
I woke up early to get a bit of quietness in the park. The park, overall, is really quiet. Absolutely loved that! Oct 2, we went to Fort Knox and the Narrows Observatory. I brought my Nikon to the Narrows because of the height issue. I could keep the camera around my neck and just keep myself balanced.
It was really cool to see so far down the river to the ocean. I was scared but I still did it. It was truly an awesome experience!
After that, we went to Fort Knox. We brought the boys with us so they could walk around the area.
There were so many areas to look around and discover. Another glorious day! After that we did a scenic route to see colors and what not. It wasn't that good but it was nice to take a break from all the walking we did at the fort. A packed day of touristy stuff!
Oct 3, we had reservations for Cadillac mountain at 7:30am. There wasn't much to see because of the cloud coverage. but as we went down, we got some good views of the bay.
There was still a bit of clouds but it was still nice. We then went to Thunder Hole and hung out there to watch the waves roll in and crash. We did see whales breaching out in the distance. It was so neat to watch!
Again, the boys were with us. I am so proud of Zeke . He did so much obstacle climbing and did a good job!
I think the only times the boys didn't go with us, they just stayed in the car. It wasn't hot and it wasn't too long for them. But for the most part, they did what we did. Again, super proud of my senior dog and my youngster. They both did good and was behaved for the most part. Then we did some scenic overlooks and they were pretty cool. Same deal with crashing waves and neat rock formations. We went to Jordan Pond for lunch and a walk. The RSVP was an hour wait so we walked the Jordan Loop (not all of it) and the boys could be with us on the outside patio. Again, they did well and didn't act up or get underfoot. They were pretty tired after all the walking around Acadia. Another full day and site seeing!
Oct 4 (Today!), again we went to Cadillac but we got sunrise reservations! These are really hard to get so all 4 of us piled in the car and went up. The boys stayed home since we left the campsite about 4:45am. It was so pretty to watch the sunrise and then the clouds came rolling in. We went back to the site, got some breakfast and then got the boys to go to the Schoodic Pennisula. WOW! There wasn't a lot of people but it was pretty amazing!
The waves were crashing a lot! We also did a trail that, again, Zeke did amazing. The poor guy is tuckered out. Then we did our last lobster roll dinner at a local place and it was really good. Tomorrow we pack up and I think we are headed to Vermont. Not sure what we will be doing or seeing but it's our next stop on our way back home. This trip has been amazing even though it wasn't as colorful with Fall colors. But everything has been great!!! Looking forward to what we are going to do on our way home!
