Sleepy Hollow birthday wrapup

Sorry it took so long for the wrapup, but life happens.  First.... the link to some of the pictures from the weekend...

Birthday camping

The last few days were quiet but it was nice as well.  The crew went kayaking and pup and I stayed at the site.  We did go walking and took a few pictures.  We did go to the MSU dairy store and got some ice cream and cruised the campus.  We did get to make cheese steak sandwiches Monday night and they were so cheesy and gooey!  Yum!

Tuesday was packup day.  Nothing crazy there.  I packed up the inside while John took care of the outside.

We may have a problem with our gray water tank (maybe a crack??).  Hopefully, it was only full and spilling over and not a crack.  Fingers crossed.

Anywho, we will be going back to Sleepy in a few weeks for the guys to get together for a football opener.  There is talk about watching the game at the campsite instead of tailgating.  BOOO!

Back to life and ready for our next trip!

A presto!

Then there was four

Aug 15 7:12am

The last of the visitors left yesterday afternoon. It was such a great camping trip!  I do have some pictures but most of the time it was just being in the moment. Plus trying to operate a camera while inebriated is difficult.  So after breakfast was made, goodbyes said, us 4 took a little nap and then went to the MSU dairy store for ice cream and to just see how the campus has changed.  I think the next trip they (the alums) are going up there to tailgate but that’s for another blog.

After we returned, we had our basic hamburger and leftovers of sides.  Today the gang is going kayaking and I am going to enjoy my book with my dog…just relaxing.  Tonight’s dinner will be cheese steak with mushrooms.  Yum!!!

Ok, I have to feed my pup, get my coffee and then get ready for our walk.

A presto!

Let the drinking games begin!

August 13  8:13am

Welcome to Sleepy Hollow.  We arrived on Thursday about 3:30pm.  At the time, I thought it was just going to be us and the 2 Erics.  But come to find out that Brandon, Trish, Cindy, Marty and Jeff were joining us.  WHAT?!  Ok, let me catch up on what happened…

Thursday, we got in and set up per usual.  Our site is 102 and I think the Longs have 104.  So after that, the drinking started.  I know I was going to be in trouble.  My first night I usually hit it the hardest.  Anyway, the Erics came by and brought more wood so the fire started and the party is going.  Brandon and Trish came too.  More fun and mayhem!  I think by that time I was on my 3rd drink and a shot.   The party site is really nice, you will see in the pictures.   It is spacious and private.  Long story short, I ended up drinking too much and my body told me so.  Found out that a 47 year old body will tell you when you made a dumb mistake.  OH well, live and learn.

Friday, we had French toast for breakfast.  Then Bill, Stacy, Brandon, Trish and John went kayaking.   They were gone for a few hours.  The Erics and I stayed at the site.  Wall got his meatball ready for dinner in the crockpot while Cornell played cornhole.  We mostly just sat around and jibber jabber.  I was going to read but that didn’t go as plan!  After every returned home, Cindy, Marty and Jeff arrived about 8pm.  I should have taken a picture of all of us around the campfire but I guess there will be today for that with breakfast, maybe.

Saturday,  well that is where we are at now.  I am pounding away on my laptop writing it all down since the internet is nonexistence here.   I still have to walk Zeke but I wanted to get my coffee in, he wanted to eat too.  It is supposed to rain later today but I guess it is a wait and see thing.

Anyhoo, I will write more later.  Not as much fun as Colorado but at least I can be lazy and not rushed to go and do things.  They all have their special moments.

A presto!

New trips added

We do have 2 other trips posted for this year.  Again, in Sleepy Hollow, for tailgating (guys) while Stacy and I hang out and enjoy the quietness!

Also Algonac at the end of September.  I guess it could be called a camping trip for my birthday since it is in September.  I don't have the site number of that yet but I guess we will find out when we get there.  To be honest, I am usually oblivious to the when and where of our trips.  Thank goodness for Google calendar when it is shared!

Side note: I have been off Fb for a few months and it has been glorious! Besides some complaining by some people because they do not have instant access to our trips, the days have been wonderful.  Mental health days from the keyboard warriors is essential.

A presto!

Next trip...Sleepy Hollow!

This time next week, we will be in Sleepy Hollow for John's birthday.  This has become a tradition for him to camp on, or around, his birthday.  I am not sure who will be there besides the usual crew but nevertheless, it will be fun.  The weather is looking decent so far but that can change but for now, fingers crossed that it will stay a bit cooler than what it has been.

Obviously, I will post a few pictures and then a final link to them all... well the ones I can show to the public.  *gasp*

Post soon!

A presto!
