Happy Memorial Day!

Our travel day home has arrived. *sad face*

First, yesterday's events... w did a little hik a Iargo Springs. The sign there said that there are 300 stairs. I think we found them all.  We also did an air museum.  It was pretty cool too. 

After that, we came back to our camp, had some yummy steak sandwiches, a fire and I had my last s'more.  A neighbor helped us out with our fire too by giving us a starter and 2 dry pieces of wood. Overall,  a good day.

I am hoping to see a sunrise this morning.  The last few mornings have been overcast.  (Sunrise at 5:55am). Then, start getting things packed up for home.  I enjoyed this trip a lot because it was mainly us. We did our own thing and it was relaxing. Definitely need to do more of these trips. Our next trip will be Pennsylvania at the end of June/July.  We have a few weeks plus we need to get a few things done outside, hopefully. 

Anywho, happy memorial day and thank you for the service folk who gave their lives for our freedom.

Fun excursions!

Yesterday was a busy day. It started nice and easy with breakfast.  After we cleaned up, we went to a yarn store and I got me some funky yarn in East Tawas.  Then we met up with friends to do some walking and we went to their campground for visiting and dinner.   They gave us some firewood because the wood at this KOA was wet. So, we had a nice fire at our site before calling it a night.  

This morning I did my exercise, walked the pups and now ready to eat my breakfast.  I think we are doing some walking and off roading but I could be wrong. Who knows! Anywho,  it's eating time!

Rainy start but it's camplife!

Today we left for Oscoda for this lovely KOA. We arrived about 5ish and it's been on/off rain showers. Just enough to get things wet but not quite a downpour.

We didn't connect starlink but we are watching to see how congested it gets here. Not that it matters but it's nice to have internet. Spoiled much, eh?

Anywho, it's getting close to my bedtime and tomorrow is my active rest day.....lazy day!! Woohooo!

Well we are home! Today I am doing laundry and trying to listen to Pimsleur.  Anyways, our last day was kind of a lazy day.  I made monkey bread to share and the day was pretty miserable.  It was chilly and windy! A couple of times the wind knock in Robert's tent thingy.  It was good for a laugh.   Later in the evening, they came by to our site and hung out inside because of the chill.  

Overall it was a fun and relaxing trip.  I enjoyed being on our own and making our own food.  The change was nice.  

We have a few days and then we are off to Oscoda KOA.  I guess we are going to visit the other group one day at their site but most of the time we will be on our own.

Beauty of a day

 Buongiorno!

Today we had a lot of fun. First, I got to sit with the gang and talk/ catch up and I could actually hear the full conversation!  John went with Patty to help her with her rig so we had some time to enjoy the morning without being rushed.  After they returned,  we had some lunch and went to Grindstone to get ice cream.  Then we went to Eagle Bay to look at a sandy beach, off to Port crescent to check out the stargazer area then we met their friend Gary for a quick visit.

We returned and John grilled up some burgers and Patty made a marshmallow fluff dessert. We ended up being the gathering site since we had a fire. 

We are supposed to have more storms tonight and a cloudy day tomorrow.

2025 Season has started!

 Buongiorno a tutti!

Well made it to Port Hope yesterday and last night we had a storm that shook the rig. The wind was nuts!

Anywho, this morning is supposed to be clear so I'm getting ready to see the sunrise. 

Zeke is doing well with the harness.  He still wants to do it himself but the last 2 steps are hard plus gravity pulls him a little faster.  

Buckley is having a blast with all the new smells around. 

Today,  John and Patty are driving into town to fix her rig.  She accidentally broke a part of her plumbing and a mechanic friend is going to help her out.  

We are here with Robert, Sheila, Bob and Betsy.  This is usually our laid back trips with just hanging with friends.  Maybe ice cream too!

Anywho, I'm going to drink my coffee and wait for the sunrise!

Updated trip log

We added a few more trips for 2025. First we booked our stay in South Dakota but still have some things to hammer out.  We also have a trip to PA for some Jeep trail badges.  

In 2 weeks we are going to Port Hope and then a "turn and burn" to Oscoda/Tawas area.  WE did sign up for a KOA card to get a discount too.  
We have been hitting those a lot lately.

Another tidbit, we got Zeke a harness to help him up and down the RV stairs.  I have been working with him to feel and adjust to the feel of this harness.  

Anywho, that's about it.  We are picking up the RV today from General because it needed a few adjustments and fixes.  We also got a carpet for the cockpit area from Alabama.  That will probably be installed during our trip at Port Hope.  

It's a shitty day here so I am going to just relax and crochet.
